Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion and Lebanese officials discussed the possibility of establishing direct flights between Canada and Lebanon during a four-day visit in which he also announced a further $6.8 million in aid to help.Aoun also asserted Lebanon's readiness to renew relations with Canada, citing the positive role the Lebanese diaspora has played in the country.Bassil echoed Aoun's calls for direct flights between Lebanon and Canada.Dion also cited Canada as an example where Muslims and Christians live together peacefully, "and because of this the people are stronger". He called on other countries to follow Lebanon and Canada's examples of coexistence, stressing Canada's renewed focus on Lebanon.Touching on the Syrian and Palestinian refugee populations in Lebanon, Dion announced a number of projects his country would support in Lebanon.
