Future MP Mohammad Qabbani blamed the presence of Syrian refugee camps in the Bekaa Valley for the increased pollution of the Litani River, requesting $20 million from the government to purify the water coming to the river.The Litani River has been in the news recently due to the ongoing pollution from sand quarries and villages using it as a dump.The World Bank board of directors has also approved a $55 million loan to clean up the Litani River and the Qaraoun Lake in Western Bekaa.
