President Michel Aoun congratulated U.S. President-elect Donald Trump Thursday, expressing hope for strengthening cooperation between Lebanon and the United States.Aoun relayed to Trump that his victory represents a great triumph in the annals of democracy, whereby the people vote to elect the president.Aoun, who was elected by the Lebanese Parliament last week, hopes that Trump's win will provide an opportunity for the two countries to work together in the fight against terrorism.
