Negotiations were underway Wednesday between Hezbollah and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham leader Abu Malek al-Talli to allow for him and the remaining militants safe passage to the Syrian province of Idlib, in exchange for three previously captured Hezbollah fighters, a security source told The Daily Star. However, the source added that Hezbollah would continue surrounding the towns and cornering militants in the same manner it has been doing since Friday. On Tuesday, Hezbollah soldiers, backed by the Syrian air force, bombed Jabhat Fatah al-Sham positions in Arsal's outskirts, advancing towards militant-held areas in Wadi Hmayyed and Wadi Al-Khayl.The area controlled by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham has shrunk significantly, with Hezbollah artillery heavily pounding militant positions, according to the WMC.
