BEIRUT: Lebanese actor Ziad Itani was Wednesday charged with collaborating with Israel, according to the state-run National News Agency.

Itani, 42, was arrested Friday and transferred to the judiciary for prosecution Tuesday.

State Commissioner to the Military Tribunal Peter Germanos charged Itani with collaborating with Israel and the possession of drugs, and referred his case to First Investigative Judge Riad Abu Ghaida, NNA reported.

The actor and writer has reportedly admitted to the charges levied against him.

Drugs, four computers and five mobile phones containing "sensitive data" were seized during his arrest by State Security in Ain al-Rummaneh on Friday night.
