Lebanese Army chief Gen. Joseph Aoun headed a delegation to Kuwait City this week to follow up on the country's pledged support for Lebanon's security apparatuses after the Rome II conference. The Rome II conference was held in the Italian capital on March 15 to garner support for Lebanon's Army and Internal Security Forces. Aoun's meeting comes just days after the Gulf state also pledged hundreds of millions of dollars toward the support of Lebanon's economy.An Army source also told The Daily Star that Aoun went to Kuwait to discuss aid pledged to the Army at Rome II.
