Lebanon decided Friday to take measures to prevent Israel from building a "separation wall" along the Lebanese-Israeli border, according to a statement issued after a meeting of the Higher Defense Council chaired by President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace.Speaking to reporters after attending the meeting that discussed the security situation in Lebanon, Machnouk said reports of Lebanon's massive spying were exaggerated, but not necessarily incorrect.Gen. Abbas Ibrahim said he wanted to see the report before commenting on it.The security situation in Lebanon and Israel's plans to build a "separation wall" along the Lebanese-Israeli border were among major topics discussed during the Higher Defense Council's meeting.Beary assured Aoun that the situation in south Lebanon was stable, and praised the work that the Army has been doing.The committee, which meets regularly to discuss the security situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border, includes senior officials from the Lebanese Army, UNIFIL and the Israeli military.
