Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Sunday that Lebanon should not miss the opportunity to be a priority in a possible arrangement between Russia and the United State to facilitate the return of Syrian refugees.Russia's Defense Ministry said Friday it had sent a proposal to Washington to jointly organize the return of Syrian refugees, after agreements reached by President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.Such an agreement, Geagea said, would see nearly two million Syrian refugees return to their lands and grant safety guarantees by both Russia and the U.S. and on-ground arrangement efforts by Russia.Preliminary assessments of Russia's proposal have indicated 890,000 refugees could return to Syria from Lebanon in the near future in addition to 300,000 from Turkey and 200,000 from European Union countries.
