Bechara Asmar, the former head of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers, was released Monday after 10 days in detention for making lewd comments involving late former Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.Beirut Investigative Judge George Rizk ordered Asmar's release on a bail of LL500,000 ($330), according to the state-run National News Agency.The former union leader was greeted by a number of supporters as he left Beirut's Justice Palace.Asmar's lawyer, Bilal al-Husseini, said earlier Monday that Rizk had listened to the testimony of four of Asmar's colleagues, who were seen in the video laughing at the joke.
