Chehayeb: Schools to reopen Wednesday

BEIRUT: Education Minister Akram Chehayeb has called for classes to resume on Wednesday.

Following his decision to close schools and universities on Tuesday, due to the nationwide strikes that have taken place since Oct. 17, Chehayeb issued a statement asking schools to resume classes. “As for the schools that cannot [open] due to the current situation, [heads of the schools] are asked to take the appropriate decision, in coordination with the hierarchical administrations," Chehayeb said.
