Bahrain said on Wednesday that members of a local "terror" group had allegedly traveled to Lebanon in 2012 to meet with Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, who handed them $20,000 to carry out attacks in their country.
It said those arrested were involved in a bomb attack on July 28, 2015 which killed two Bahraini policemen and wounded six others.
Ali Fakhrawi traveled to Lebanon along with suspects Zuheir Ashour and Hussein Abdel Wahab to ask for financial support from Hezbollah, the statement added.
The four were accused of meeting with commanders in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah to receive support on training militants to carry out attacks in Bahrain and create an armed wing for the Islamic Loyalty Movement, the statement added.
