The push into the town of Mayadeen came alongside another Syrian military offensive that an army source said cleared Daesh from its last pocket of territory in Homs.The Russian state RIA Novosti news agency quoted a Syrian army general as saying that the Syrian forces have fought their way into Mayadeen, which lies around 45 kilometers to the south of Deir al-Zor city.The Russian Defense Ministry announced its submarines fired 10 cruise missiles Thursday at Daesh positions outside of the town.Meanwhile, a Syrian military source said Friday the army ousted Daesh from its last pocket of territory in central Syria after months of fighting.Three children and three women were among those killed, the group said Friday, blaming Daesh for the attack.
