Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki suggested Thursday that Arab countries should recall their ambassadors to the United States in response to Washington moving its Israel Embassy to occupied Jerusalem.Following similar steps by the United States and Guatemala, Paraguay's government announced President Horacio Cartes will open the country's new embassy to Israel in Jerusalem Tuesday.Palestinians want East Jerusalem as their future capital and were infuriated by the embassy moves.Turkey wants the United Nations General Assembly to pass a motion regarding Jerusalem, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.Separately, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees is fueling "unrealistic" hopes of return after 70 years of exodus and is therefore helping keep the conflict alive, Switzerland's foreign minister said Thursday.The United Nations Relief and Works Agency was established after the war surrounding Israel's creation in 1948, when around 700,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled.But Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis pointed out that the number of Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza has swelled to more than 5 million.
